Integrating Java Applets
Add and interrogate Java applets using Pega Robotic Automation Studio's web adapter. For more information, see Web Adapter. Specifics for Java applications are:
To verify that the application is running a Java Applet, note the Java icon in the program tray and/or search the processes listed in Process Explorer for the jvn.dll. Pega Robotic Automation supports Java versions 1.4 through 1.8. For more information, see Application Support Matrix.
Complete the StartPage of the Java applet for the web adapter.
Set the HookChildProcesses to True when working with applets in Java 1.6.0_10 and above. Applets running in Java 1.6.0_10 and above are launched as part of a separate process.
Start the Interrogator and interrogate the applet.
When Pega Robotic Automation detects a Java application, it creates the Java Controls tab. For more information, see General Web Control Properties, Methods, and Events.
Because of the structure of some Java applets, the Interrogator might not uniquely identify a control (the message "Unable to uniquely match the control" is displayed in the Interrogation form). Modify or add match rules to uniquely identify controls. For more information, see Modifying Match Rule Properties.
Studio supports grids in Java applets and applications. For definitions of the properties, methods, and events of the grid, see the Help pane in Object Explorer.
