Add New Solution Items

Use this window to add a solution item to the solution based on a list of available Studio templates. The solution items are available to all projects in the solution. For general information about how Solution Explorer manages Solution Items, see the MSDN Solution Items topic.

The available item templates are:

• Text File – Opens a blank .txt file in the Designer and displays the Text Editor toolbar.

• XML File – Opens a blank .XML file in the Designer and displays the XML Editor toolbar.

• Bitmap File – Launches Microsoft Paint with a blank .bmp file.

• Native Resource Template – Adds a customized resource to the solution. See the MSDN Using Resource Templates topic for more information.

• HTML Page – Opens an .htm file in the Designer and displays the Text Editor toolbar.

• XML Schema – Opens an .xsd file in the Designer and displays  the XML Editor toolbar.

• Icon – Launches Microsoft Paint with a blank .ico file.

• Style Sheet – Opens a blank .css file in the Designer.

• XSLT File – Opens a blank .xslt file in the Designer and displays the XML Editor toolbar.

• Cursor File – Opens a blank .cur file.
