Automations - Add Automation

To add an automation to a project, right-click the project in the Solution Explorer and select Add > New Automation. The Add New Item window is displayed, with an Automation.os item selected. You can rename the automation (leaving the .os extension) and then click OK. The new automation is displayed in Solution Explorer under the parent project.

When naming project items, components, and controls, use a unique name within the project. For example, if you have an adapter named Google and an automation named Google, you will receive an error. This also applies when naming components and controls. As a general rule, do not name components using property names. For example, if you rename a button on a Windows form Text, you will receive a build error as the form containing the button has a property named Text.

If your solution contains multiple Studio projects with automations, you can use the automations by importing the projects into your main, Startup Project. For more information, see Working with Multiple Projects.
