Description

Build Solution

Choose Build or Build Solution to compile only those project files and components that have changed since the last build. The projects are compiled using the solution configuration selected (Release, Debug, and so on.).

Rebuild Solution

Choose Rebuild Solution to clean the solution and then build all project files and components. See the definition of the Clean Solution option.

Clean Solution

With projects, choose Clean Solution to delete all deployment packages, deployment manifests, and assemblies, .pdb, and .xml files.

Build projectname

Choose Build [Project Name] to build only those project components that have changed since the last build.

Rebuild project name
build project name

Choose Rebuild [Project Name] to clean the project first, and then build the project files and all project components. See the definition of the Clean projectname option.

Clean projectname

For Studio projects, choose Clean [Project Name] to delete all deployment packages, deployment manifests and assemblies, .pdb, and .xml files.

Batch Build

Choose Batch Build to build multiple project configurations.

Configuration Manager

Choosing this option opens the Configuration Manager dialog where you can create and edit solution build configurations and project configurations. Any changes you make to solution build configurations are reflected on the Configuration page of the Solution Property Pages window.
