Windows Match Rules
As you interrogate the application, Studio matches the name of the window form (Window Text) and detects the platform on which the application was built (.NET, Windows, and so on) and applies a default match rule. The default match rules applied depend on the base technology as follows.
Platform |
Match Rules For the Application Form Window |
.NET Application (such as CRM.exe) |
Window Text match rule .NET Control Name match rule |
Windows such as Calc.exe) |
Window Text match rule Window Class Name match rule |
Windows MFC (such as Clarify.exe ver 5.1) |

As you interrogate the objects within the application, Studio uses the match rules best suited to uniquely identify the objects.
