Modifying a Link or URL

Web application match rules that use a URL need to be modified in cases where the URL changes from the initially interrogated instance. For example, a web application page containing account information uses the account number in the URL. When the page is interrogated, the account number for that instance of the page is used in the match rule. If the account information page is opened for another account, the page will fail to match since the account number in the URL differs. You can modify the properties of match rules that use the URL so that the page matches. Match Rules that use the URL contain properties for the Scheme, Host, Path, and Query parts of the URL. These parts of the URL are shown in the example below:

The Match Rule properties contain the URL parts:

Click on the Host, Path or Query property to display a Browse button next to the property value. Click Browse to open the Match Rule Editor and use the options in the editor to modify the text in the Host, Path, or Query property to broaden the match criteria.
