Java Applications and Applets Integration
Pega Robotic Automation supports Oracle Java JDK versions 1.4 through 1.8, Java AWT and Swing technologies, JInitiator 1.3 applications, including Oracle Forms 10g and 10r. For a complete list of supported applications, see the Application Support Matrix.
There are several ways Studio works with Java technology:
Applets – They are part of web applications and are interrogated through the Web adapter.
Applications – They are launched from either Java.exe (which brings up a diagnostic console) or Javaw.exe (which does not). The Windows adapter is used to interrogate Java applications.
Note: Java Applets version 1.6.10+ spawn multiple processes. You must set the HookChildProcesses property to True for the web adapter when interrogating Java applets versions 1.6.10+. To exclude a specific Java process or Factory, use the ExcludeProcesses property. For more information, see Using HookChildProcesses and Excluding Processes for Use in Projects.
