SendKeystrokes Method

The SendKeystrokes method lets you send a keyboard value to a Windows Control. To specify a keyboard value, type the key by pressing it on the keyboard. For example, to send the text ATL to a Control, type ATL in the Keys parameter.

Note: To send keyboard commands to a Control, use the SendKeys Method.

This automation enters the text: Order Center Atlanta in the CRMComments text box.

  1. Two Enter commands are sent to the text box to move the cursor down two lines.

  2. SendKeystrokes is then used to enter the text: ORD. Again the SendKeys method is used to move the cursor down two lines (the Enter command issued twice).

  3. Finally the text: ATL0 is entered by using the SendKeystrokes method.
