Encrypt Property
The Encrypt property on the variable components lets you make sure that the variable value, as set in the Properties grid, displays in the project files in encrypted format.
Note: The value must be entered into the Properties window for it to be encrypted. A value entered in a block on an automation will be visible in the automation file regardless of the Encrypt property's setting.
For example, in the Properties grid below, the String Variable Value is set to Mr. Smith.
The project's file with reference to this variable value is displayed as follows.
When you set the Encrypt property to True, however, the file displays the variable information as follows.
The project's XML files with reference to this variable value would appear as follows.
