Event Logging - Overview

Studio provides features for writing to the Windows event log. Windows event logging provides a standard, centralized way for applications and the operating system to record software and hardware events which you can use to determine why an operating error occurred and to identify system problems. Use the Microsoft Event Viewer, a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in, to browse and manage event logs.

Note: Event log and event source creation are privileged operations. Creation of a new event log, new event source, or reassignment of an existing event source to a different event log is an administrative operation and must be done under an Admin user's credentials.
